Your Assignment for Today (repost)
This is amazing. Ok. Hereās your assignment. It literally takes 2 minutes.
…the 2023 bait š£
Sometimes a repost is the best way to prove a point
Ā Original post = Feb 6, 2018 (5 years ago)
“This is amazing. Ok. Hereās your assignment. It literally takes 2 minutes.”
1. Grab your most recent photo album. I know many of us feel very behind on getting pictures into an album let alone creating a book.Ā Doesnāt matter. Just get the most recent one you can find.
2. Put it on your kitchen island or kitchen table or coffee table. Doesnāt matter as long as itās a highly trafficked common area in your home.
3. Open it. (This is an important step)
4. Leave it there. Assignment completed.
5. Wait. Donāt point it out. Just. Wait.
What will happen soon is miraculous. Your people will LOOK at the album! They wonāt even necessarily realize theyāre doing it.
They will literally stop, look, turn pages, chuckle, groan, and even possibly start a conversation. Amazeballs!!Ā I know this because Iāve conducted a thorough and very scientific study with profound results. I had data and charts and correlation tablesā¦but my dog ate them. Itās ok. You will see for yourself.
Now this is not meant to be a guilt trip that you are too behind and youād better start churning out photo albums. This assignment is to validate that there was a reason that you chose to print *gasp* those images. Ā You wanted to have a nice memory to relive down the road. āDown the roadā is now, people.
Sometimes our desire to keep things tidy ā and boy do I feel the weight of that challenge ā prevents us from enjoying these memories because our albums never make it off the shelf. I figure, though, that leaving a book out for a few days now and then doesnāt make my home exponentially messy.
So, try it out. I promise you wonāt be disappointed.
Pro Tip #1. If you have kids, they would probably rather see pictures of themselves rather than you as a youngster.
Pro Tip #2. Donāt leave the same book out too long. Then it just becomes something commonplace in your home and gets easy to overlook.
Fast Forward 5 years. Did it work??
Heck, yeah!

What’s New in 2023 at Focus
Welcome to 2023 and the Ā āwhatās new this yearā article. I hope this note finds you well!
Last yearās sessions were limited due to our personally busy year. Even so, they were still a big part of my 2022 and I enjoyed seeing you all! Most of my clients in the past several years have been high school seniors so I must take just a moment to say how excited I am for all of you as the spring of your senior year is about to take off. And for my focus families, it was such a blessing to get to see you as well. You are appreciated!
So, what’s new at
FOCUS in 2023?

Class of 2024 High School Seniors
As last yearās busy personal year came to a close, it became clear that 2023 will be similar, if not more involved. It is with quite a bit of sadness that Iāve made the decision to not take on high school seniors this year (Class of 2024).
I love, LOVE my senior clients! I was so looking forward to seeing the soon-to-be seniors who are just waiting for me to open the books as well as the seniors I had yet to meet. It’s possible that the summer will be less busy than I anticipate. However, senior clients are unique in that itās important to secure your photographer in early spring if possible. The uncertainty of my schedule this year leaves me less than 100% certain that I can plan as far out as senior clients require and deserve.
Being unwilling to leave anyone in a lurch, I am Ā communicating the decision now so that the Class of 2024 has plenty of time to find a photographer who can more definitively schedule for the summer.
